Somewhere between modern indie pop and reinvented 1960’s country style, sits Nikki Lane. Lane went from Los Angeles fashion designer, to New Yorker, and ultimately landed in Nashville. What once was a form of self-therapy, songwriting has turned into a burning passion that found Nikki creating a unique sound, mixing southern twang, orchestral arrangements and modern pop rock chorus. Her latest record, Highway Queen, demonstrates the wide variety in her songwriting arsenal. Sometimes people are just magnets for good vibes that make you smile, and Bristol-based George Ezra does just that with his infectious nature.
At the age of only 19, George Ezra’s first soulful classic folk single, “Budapest” charted on Billboard and the UK Charts. Highly influential french quartet Gojira came onto the scene in an obscure way, self-recording their initial releases, and making major waves in their genre. They are known for their unpredictable blend of death, thrash, progressive, groove, and sometimes math metal, which has made them a constant influence over technical metal bands. After several LP’s and tours, Gojira inked a deal with label Roadrunner Records for the release of L’Enfant Sauvage (The Wild Child ), opening them to a wider audience and reaching the Top 40 in American, Canadian, Swedish and French Charts. In June of 2018, the band released footage from a live session recorded at Silver Cord studios in New York, which garnered millions of views as the band performed “Global Warming” for the first time since the recording of it off their 2004 record Mars To Sirius. Check out the video above.
