There is no band that dares to combine the genres of rock, rap, reggae, and funk into one sound quite like 311. Though the band was established in Omaha, their unique sound is unmistakably associated with summer under the Southern California sun. Their hits have shattered the charts, from tracks like “Amber” and “Down” to their modern-reggae adaptation of the Cure’s “Lovesong.”
Their latest release, Voyager, brings more of that signature 311 sound for 13 catchy tracks. The album goes between their chilled-out reggae sound on tracks like “Space and Time,” “Don’t You Worry,” and “Dodging Raindrops.” But, it would not be a 311 album without their hard rock tracks, as heard on “Rolling Through,” “Dream State,” and “Charge It Up.” Whether your head is bobbing or banging, there will be a song to fit your mood on Voyager.
To accompany the release of the album, 311 has teamed up with YouTube, 7 Cinematics, and Nugs.net to provide a free live-stream of their concert at the KeyBank Pavilion in Pennsylvania on July 13th, 2019, which was broadcasted via the official 311 YouTube channel.
To get away from the screen and catch 311 live, be sure to check out their tour dates on their official website.
