Tucked away among sprawling eucalyptus trees lies San Luis Obispo’s DIY music festival Shabang Reborn. What started as merely a few friends playing music on top of Cuesta Ridge Mountain has spiraled into the go-to music event for Central Coast natives.

On Saturday, May 4, fans gathered at Laguna Lake Park to enjoy art installations and celebrate up-and-coming musicians within the Central Coast region. This year, the event featured artists Sure Sure, The Palms, Bane’s World, Cherry Glazerr and more.

Set in Ernie Ball’s hometown of San Luis Obispo, the event featured a handful of local vendors, artists and educational speakers. Attendees were even allowed a chance to win their own Ernie Ball gear.

Cherry Glazerr finished off the night playing their indie, garage rock sounds on the main stage. The three-piece played fan favorites including “Had Ten Dollaz” and “Told You I’d Be with the Guys,” while also showcasing new songs off of their latest release Stuffed & Ready.

Steadily on the rise, Cherry Glazerr is making stops at some of music’s most notable events this year, including Austin City Limits and Woodstock 50. Catch them on tour near you.
