About two months ago, we reported on rumors that Ernie Ball artists Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett were teaming up to record a collaborative record together. On Wednesday, the two announced a North American tour in support of that record.

Rumor has it that two of our Ernie Ball family artists, @kurtvile and @courtneymelba, are currently collaborating on a new record. This photo from last week certainly makes that look like a real possibility! #CourtVile

Supporting the duo on tour will be a band known as the Sea Lice, comprised of Sleater-Kinney’s Janet Weiss and touring member Katie Harkin, Rob Laakso of The Violators, and Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa. Additionally, the lineup has partnered with the Plus 1 organization, and one dollar from every ticket sold on the tour will be donated to the ACLU. The new record will be released later this year.
