Philadelphia based band Japanese Breakfast, led by founder and front woman Michelle Zauner, rang in the new year in front of a hometown Philadelphia crowd. Zauner and the band made the stop as a part of a continuing U.S. tour, that will go abroad in the later months of 2019. Known for their synth driven indie pop, Japanese Breakfast has steadily ascended in the past years, coming off a strong sophomore album titled Soft Sounds From Another Planet. After back to back albums in 2016 and 2017, fans are hopeful that Zauner and the group are cooking up a release for this calendar year. Check out their cover of Tears for Fears track, “Head Over Heels” below, and their covers of Carly Rae Jepsen and Nada Surf.
