Arguably one of the most well known and well talked about music festivals will return this summer to celebrate its 50th anniversary. In 1969, Woodstock made history as over a half a million people came together for “3 days of Peace & Music” in New York during a time of global turmoil. While the issues we face today and the music that will unite us may have changed since ’69, there is no doubt that Woodstock’s mission of bringing people “to live together in harmony and with compassion” still has a place in today’s society.

The original venue, a 600-acre dairy farm in Bethel, New York, was purchased and the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts was built on its grounds, commemorating Woodstock. Now, in 2019 this center will help host the “golden anniversary” of the festival.

While the mission and idea of Woodstock may have stayed the same, the music sure has changed. Performers of the 50th anniversary of Woodstock are beyond excited to be a part of the commemoration of such a big piece of music history, and a laundry list of Ernie Ball players will be taking the stage.
