Legendary nineties-era emo band and Ernie Ball artists American Football released their second LP today, a full seventeen years after dropping their self-titled debut back in 1999. Though they broke up shortly after their debut release and didn’t receive much acclaim during that time, the band’s sound grew to become revered by up-and-coming bands with similar sensibilities. Here, you can watch the video for what is arguably the band’s most well-known song, “Never Meant.”
“We didn’t really set out to make another first record… we just set out to make a record. It just feels like a new band.” — Mike Kinsella
American Football currently has only four tour dates scheduled between now and early 2017, so you had better act fast if you want to take advantage of the opportunity to see them play live. Get info on their tour dates at their website, and stream the new album in its entirety on Spotify.
