Hardcore punk group Beartooth released their new video for “You Never Know” — the fourth track off their latest album titled Disease. The video features the Ohio rockers channeling their inner biker gang while in a Purge-style pursuit to assassinate vocalist Caleb Shomo’s depressed self. The video’s theme perfectly aligns with the rest of their album. Disease is a painstaking, riff-driven examination of the unshakeable throes of depression.

The album is a whirlwind of emotion,” Shomo explains. “Crazy highs, crazy lows, and lots of intensity. This record isn’t about winning anything. It’s about trying to even begin to learn how to deal with things. It’s hard to process just how dark you can get, what you can really put yourself through with expectations. It’s like starting from the beginning all over again. At the end of the day, it is a very dark album.

The talented frontrunner mixed the whole album himself alongside an experienced engineer, now with executive producer (and Grammy winner) Nick Raskulinecz, who has worked with Foo Fighters and Rush.

Beartooth is currently trekking around Europe for their world tour, which kicked off in mid September 2018. The group will be back in the states for festival season before finishing off their finals dates end of July. For more information on upcoming shows, click here.

Strings

Beartooth utilizes Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Slinkys and Bass 5 Super Slinkys to create their melodies. For their heavier riffs, they use a custom set of Ernie Ball Single Strings with 12-64 gauge Slinkys and Bass 5 Power Slinkys.
