Starbenders
Georgia mystics Starbenders came onto the scene blending glam pop with a rock and roll/punk attitude. Kimi Shelter’s haunting voice is very “Bowie-esque,” singing in multiple voices from verse to chorus. The tight-knit rhythm section of Aaron Lecesnse on bass, and Emily Moon on drums, lay the groundwork for the hook-filled tunes, completed by Kriss Tokaji’s ripping lead guitar. The band released their Audiotree Session in 2018 after touring with Alice In Chains, and they haven’t let off the gas since, supporting their latest EP, Julian. Listen to their live performance of “While I Was Sleeping” above.
Starbenders rip the gig with Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky, Skinny Top Heavy Bottom, and Super Slinky Bass Strings.
