It’s been a stressful past week for pop-punk fans, as Billie Joe Armstrong has subtly been leaving bread crumbs teasing new music and a tour alongside Fall Out Boy and Weezer. After days of peering at our screens and constantly refreshing our feeds, the wait is finally over.

Green Day officially posted to the band’s Twitter this morning announcing the release of their new album, Father Of All. Set to release February 7, 2020, the new record presents themes of anxiety, joy, violence, drugs, tribalism, and surviving in today’s chaotic world.

Me, [Mike Dirnt], and [Tré Cool] of the Green Day cut through the bullshit. That’s how it’s always been for us… this record is The New! soul, Motown, glam and manic anthemic. Punks, freaks and punishers! The Dirty messy . The Stink. , The lyrics are like a party and lifestyle of not giving a fuck. The life AND death of the party. Not political. Surviving in chaos. The real shit.

Along with the album release, rumors circulating the Hella Mega Tour were revealed true as all three bands dropped new music in accordance with the joint tour announcement. Fall Out Boy released “Dear Future Self (Hands Up)” featuring Wyclef Jean, while Weezer are once again defying genres with their new single, “The End of the Game.” Weezer’s forthcoming 14th studio album, Van Weezer, is due May 2020.

Fellow Ernie Ball artist The Interrupters will also be supporting the massive stadium tour. The Hella Mega Tour will begin early next spring and run through late summer. Find full tour dates and further ticket info here.
